Production Blog: Filming for our Opening Sequence

Hello bloggers, welcome back. As you all may know last blog we were selecting the music that will be incorperated in our opening sequence. Today is our first official day that we will begin filming. After days of preperation we are finally ready to film. After days of scheduling and planning out a day that we all could meet up we finally were able to come together. We started filming the first part of the storyboard where it was when we wake up and get ready. We all came in sleepy clothes like pajamas and a comfortable shirt to make it seem we had just woken up. Also we had to decide whose going to be the main character of the opening sequence which means they will be shown in the camera more than the other characters. It took a minute to decide this but we ended up voting for Joao to be the main character. Moving onto the filming, our first scene we filmed Joao waking up from bed while we were driving home. Our next scene was me, Constanza and enzo arriving home to make breakfast with Joao. We encountered  some complication in filming the breakfast scene. As we were filming the eggs started to sizzle and the oils kept on popping to us. We tried to lower down the stove but that didn't work. We ended up just putting a cover over the egg. We didn't want to take much time on this since the eggs could burn so we filmed it really quick. The scene turned pretty good and we were able to enjoy the eggs after. We took a break and ate the amazing breakfast we made which was really worth it. Well we got a good amount of filming done and out of the way. Title Research: Manhut

 In the film Manhunt they have various titles displayed throughout the opening sequence. These titles include the studio, production company, director and inspiration for the film. The titles also include where the film is taking place. The last title to be shown is the title of the movie itself and then the background changes to a very bright red emphasizing the film title apart from the rest. The images emphasized during the opening sequence are that of terrorists which sets the concept of the movie up and gives the audience an understanding of what they're about to watch. They also show documents that appear to be federal or secretive in the background with more mugshots of terrorist with lines connecting all of the mugshots and documents. The film establishes the thriller genre with the use of a serious and off-putting font. Our Pitch

These are our pitches we came up with for our opening sequence Pitch A: A group of students plan out an innocent camping trip and begin to find out that there is something out there, something watching them the entire time. Pitch B: A family hires a personal chef, the chef sneakily steals items from their house covering his tracks no matter the cost. Pitch A seemed a little cliche to us at first but it was a very feasible idea that could still be loads of fun and really well produced. We found that it would be simpler to use effective music in a thriller as there are loads more films and media work using suspenseful music. We also had a slight plan as to where we would film the sequence, Oleta State Park. We also had the camping equipment necessary for the props and costumes allowing our budgets to be put towards other things.
