Production Blog: Changes made from Film Review

Hey bloggers!!! Welcome back. In my last blog I teamed up with my friend to review my opening sequence so it can be as good as possible. He anaylzed everything and gave some good criticism. With that being said I will be using all those critques and improve my opening sequence with it. Me and my group came together and we decided to adjust these issues. The first issue that we needed to fix was the sound design so we got straight into it. We went to the scenes that were way too loud and we adjusted the voluming so the transitions from one scene to another was smooth. The scene in the woods was very low, to the point where we couldn't hear any of the dialogue. So with Enzo's expertise in editing he went on and tweaked with the volume a little bit until it was right. We then put it together and it souded way smoother than before making it a higher quality. Next step was to edit the lighting. My friend stated that certain scenes were too dark so we went on and made it brighter. For instance, me and my group were barely visible in the woods scene. Enzo went on and changed it which made it look a lot better. Something that my group mentioned but my friend didn't notice was how bright red the title was. My group said that it wasn't a bad color choice it was just really bright which didn't match the whole theme. So what we did was make a little darker so the vibe of the title could match with the whole scenery. This edit truly did make it a lot better and it really matched the whole setting. Today was another succesfull day and our opening sequence is looking way better than before. We will continue editing in the future but for now I really like where this is going. Title Research: Manhut

 In the film Manhunt they have various titles displayed throughout the opening sequence. These titles include the studio, production company, director and inspiration for the film. The titles also include where the film is taking place. The last title to be shown is the title of the movie itself and then the background changes to a very bright red emphasizing the film title apart from the rest. The images emphasized during the opening sequence are that of terrorists which sets the concept of the movie up and gives the audience an understanding of what they're about to watch. They also show documents that appear to be federal or secretive in the background with more mugshots of terrorist with lines connecting all of the mugshots and documents. The film establishes the thriller genre with the use of a serious and off-putting font. Our Pitch

These are our pitches we came up with for our opening sequence Pitch A: A group of students plan out an innocent camping trip and begin to find out that there is something out there, something watching them the entire time. Pitch B: A family hires a personal chef, the chef sneakily steals items from their house covering his tracks no matter the cost. Pitch A seemed a little cliche to us at first but it was a very feasible idea that could still be loads of fun and really well produced. We found that it would be simpler to use effective music in a thriller as there are loads more films and media work using suspenseful music. We also had a slight plan as to where we would film the sequence, Oleta State Park. We also had the camping equipment necessary for the props and costumes allowing our budgets to be put towards other things.
