Production Blog: Back to work

Hello bloggers how are we doing today? I hope your day is going well. So as you know from the last blog we were getting our ideas set up to start filming.  We also finished up around a quarter of our script for the scenes which is great progress. So, today we decided that we would all work in the afternoon and hopefully get most of our tasks done. So first thing we did was go to a local park so we could get some work done in a smooth and chill environment. The weather was perfect so we got straight to work as soon as we found a nice bench. We gave different people different tasks so we would move at a quicker pace. Joao worked on the script and got most of it done and only had about a quarter left before he got tired, connie was working on the different ideas that we can include in the film and I worked on the storyboard. So after working for so long we all went to grab lunch since we were all hungry and we also deserved it. On the way there we saw a memorial place and we instantly got an idea of one of our scenes. We decided that we would film one of our scenes at the cemetery. We were first a little hesitant on it but soon decided that we would eventually follow through with the plan to film there. We got our lunch and discussed some more plans for how we would proceed with the filming. We ended up going to chipotle since we all mutually liked it and thought it was a good place to go eat out. After we were done we went back to Connies house and got some work done before we were finally burnt out. We reviewed our work and shared opinions and thoughts on what might need to be changed or what should be kept the same. After all that work we were done for the day and we were all ready to go back home. I believe we made a lot of progress today and that it was a great overall day for the group. Movie Research: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

For the past week the group has been researching various thriller movies, the movie we're researching at the moment is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (TCM) is a long term favorite amongst scare enthusiasts and has touched the hearts of millions of fans. However, the most recent installment of the series is poorly rated by many due to its poor storyline. The TCM is a scary film and has some notable scenes that draw out fear in the audience but lack of interesting storyline makes it bland and unentertaining. The TCM uses tracking shots, close-ups and inserts. The TCM also uses very detailed props and costumes to immerse audiences such as chainsaws and leather masks. The TCM fantastically uses jump scares and music to intensify the film and it truly terrifies the audience. Our Pitch

These are our pitches we came up with for our opening sequence Pitch A: A group of students plan out an innocent camping trip and begin to find out that there is something out there, something watching them the entire time. Pitch B: A family hires a personal chef, the chef sneakily steals items from their house covering his tracks no matter the cost. Pitch A seemed a little cliche to us at first but it was a very feasible idea that could still be loads of fun and really well produced. We found that it would be simpler to use effective music in a thriller as there are loads more films and media work using suspenseful music. We also had a slight plan as to where we would film the sequence, Oleta State Park. We also had the camping equipment necessary for the props and costumes allowing our budgets to be put towards other things.
