1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
The video for the song I created with my group is really symbolic of what people throughout the world go through on a daily basis. Our film examines how people grieve and the effects that the loss of a loved one can have on them. The music video also examines how people age and change over their lives, yet no matter their age, individuals continue to have love for a valued one. The video accomplishes this through the powerful use of sentimental words that create love and flashbacks to an idea that everyone across the world experiences and understands. We also included a memory to demonstrate how much we all miss our loved ones. Our products represent a wide range of communities and concerns around the world. Mental health is one of the most severe problems and issues that our video highlights. A problem where many lives are lost each year. Our film focuses on the difficulties of dealing with the loss of a loved one, which in this video its a pet. Our product also attempts to convey an important point to all people who are dealing with personal issues. Our video encourages people who are going through this painful moment to find help so they can learn how to coop with it because no one deserves to go through such pain. We used several transitions to describe the tone of the video and as we also used flashback to describe how the girl misses her dog.
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
Our product is extremely successful with viewers because of the sentimental tone created by our music video, which includes familiar places to engage the audience. Our music video includes a appealing and popular song that has been played around the world for many years in order to keep people intrigued and interested. Our product was also targeted at specific groups in order to have the biggest impact on them. For example, our music video was aimed at individuals who are compassionate and sensitive, particularly those at a young age. However, the concept behind our video may be felt by people of all ages due to the sentimental mood the video conveys, which provides a sense of a gathering with everyone. Those viewers who are struggling with the loss of their loved ones understands the sorrow that is shown in the music videos. As stated in the music video we must enjoy every moment we have with our loved ones possible. The message that we wanted to bring out is that those who are going through a rough time because of a loss isn't alone and they could seek help to better themselves. The audience that would most engage with this music video would be the range of teenager's to young adults as it is the times where they start losing their loved ones. As I want to publish this so I can spread awareness to those who need an inspiration and hope.
3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
When I first started working on production blogs I had no idea what to do and I was struggling. I was stressing because this is an important part of each of my productions and I want to do the best I can. I progressed extremely as I practiced and did multiple production blogs. I gathered a bunch of information to improve and fix my previous mistakes so I won't do them again. Something I learned because of this production was the amount of work and effort you have to put into one project. I've realized the time you have to put into each step of the project so it can came out really good. Each part matters as the planning and the research blog are the most important ones because its the base or the starting block of your project. Without those it would've been a struggle to work it out with my group. My organization skills also improved a lot as me and my group members had different roles and took a key part into each step of this project. We made it so that it would flow fluently and we completed each process smoothly as we knew what we had to do beforehand. I also learned a bit of editing skills as I did some of the tweaks through iMovie. I learned how different lightings can affect the mood of the video. I learned some new transition and create a flashback which it could be useful for future reference. This project has shown me how much I progressed since I first started working with blogs and how important it is to put your best effort into each step as every step matters. It take a good amount of time but it is worth it at the end.
4. How did you integrate technologies software, hardware and online in this project?
I incorporated vairous types of technology software and hardware in the project. A software that I used that was key to the succesfulness of this project was iMovie. It helped us edit and make our project come together. Another software that I used was Vimeo which assited me to embed the video to then publish it into bloggers so it would allow me to post it. I also used hardware technologies for example the camera. The camera was also essential as having a good camera is important for the quality and use different angles to increase the level of excellence. I also used online websites to search up the props and costumes for our project. I neccesarly didn't buy anything but my group members did. I did some research though to show them and they purchased the items. These technologies aided us extremely in the succesfulness of this music video. It helped us keep everything in order and put this video together as we were able to adjust lighting, angles, transitions, etc.
